Throwdown.

19 July 2011

I’ve probably mentioned before that I used to fight semi-professionally. At one point, I was pretty decent with Muay Thai and its bastard cousin American Kickboxing. That, of course, was a long time ago.

So of course, I went ahead and started setting up a boxing gym in my garage this weekend.

I’m getting old (well, 33 next week), but worse than that, I’m feeling old. So it’s back to training for me, because I was in the best shape of my life when I was fighting. Expect a couple of MMA-themed blog entries down the road.

It’s not just a problem I have, though. Writers in general do a lot of sitting in front of screens, and it’s very easy for us to get out of shape.

So, my creative friends, how do you stay in shape? How do you keep healthy after those long hours putting in the work?

    “Round’s a shape.”
-From possibly the worst boxing movie of all time. And you know how I stay in shape. I race cars….with the bicycle
