Late post due to long night
So, today’s post is flying up after noon. Sorry about that. I had my first good, solid long night writing and editing in a while last night. You know, one of those where I started about 5 p.m., realized sometime around 1 a.m. I needed food to live, and finally wrapped up around 6 a.m.
I feel like I got a lot done, including revisions on the second 47 Echo book, a couple of chapters on one of my super-secret projects, and, of course, @Tweet_Book. It wasn’t an 8,000 word night, but I have the feeling I’ll be getting to those again sooner rather than later.
There’s a certain state I get into when I’m on a roll, a kind of “in the zone” feeling I thought was reserved for athletes (I haven’t been one of those in many years). I had no idea this “Zone” feeling or “flow state” was possible with something as nerdy as writing, but it turns out, yep.
How do you know when you’re going to have a good night creatively? Does it sneak up on you, or can you feel it coming?
usually when an idea pops into my head and i can’t even think of sleeping till i get it all written out….
