Excited this week, as I’m starting a new, super-secret project. I’ll try not to let the blogging slip too much, but no promises.

Starting a new project is always lots of fun, especially if you’re writing in a completely new world. You get to do all the awesome stuff, like creating new characters, doing worldbuilding, and figuring out the mood and tone of the entire thing. It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun work, so no complaints here.

So what’s your favorite part of the process? A lot of writers I know think the words “THE END” are the best part, where others like the time before a single word has been committed to paper. Some like the part where they’re in the middle of the work, trying to figure out how to get to the next bit. What about you? Which part of the writing process is your favorite?

For me it depends entirely on the situation. I generally worry about the basic story premise first, then ensure that I have the essentials like a beginning, middle and an ending. Lastly, I add the universe. Then again, with my sequel it’s just focusing on the story and expend on a couple of characters.
