The Brotherhood of Sleep
So, this weekend is going to be a lot of work. I was supposed to have my final edits for 47 Echo 2 all wrapped up by now, but instead, I decided to. . . well, sleep. Which is odd for me for a number of reasons.
One, I don’t actually sleep nights very much. It’s somewhat incorrect to say I’m an insomniac, because given the option, I’ll sleep about six to eight hours a day. It’s just that the times I fall asleep easiest (and sleep well) fall during daylight hours for some reason. I’m not one of those people lucky enough to make a living off of my writing, so I have to work a real job to, y’know, live. And the only jobs that are available when I’m most awake (in the dead of night) come with a blue vest and the responsibility of cleaning up spills on aisle 9.
So I try to sleep nights, but that’s like a normal person going to bed at noon. And besides, I write nights. So I usually get to bed about 5 a.m., then get up around 8 to go to the office.
Yeah, I’m a zombie.
But I think I’m coming down with something this week. I’ve gotten to bed at 1:00 and 2:30 these last couple of nights, and gotten shockingly little work done. So this weekend is the final push to get this thing edited. If you need to get a hold of me, email’s probably your best bet.
And yes, I’m aware this blog served no purpose today. Cut me a break. I’m sleepy.
