Will not cause “War of the Worlds”-type mass hysteria
10 December 2010
A bit of an announcement: I got the news on Wednesday that 47 Echo will also be available as an audiobook from Audible. No word on release date or who’s reading it yet, but I’m more than a little excited about this development.
And yes, I did find out on Wednesday when I posted the Audiobooks blog. Yes, I am that transparent. Just ask my wife.
So, as it’s Friday and I’m lazy, a very easy question for the group today. Who has the best all-time voice-acting voice? Points off for James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman, because they’re pretty much universally recognized. But if you had an audiobook coming out, who would you want to read it?

Peewee Herman
Heh. Awesome.
Patrick Stewart, or maybe Liam Neeson. Too bad Boris Karloff isn’t available anymore. Ditto, Vincent Price.
Vincent Price would have been awesome. Perhaps we should start the resurrection procedures. I have a manual here somewhere. . .
I was going to say Bobcat Goldthwait, but thought people might throw rocks at me.
Bawbwa Walwas!
Good choices: Matt Damon, Ian McKellen.
Bad choices: Carrot Top, Joey Lauren Adams, Mike Tyson, Mr. T (tho Mr. T could be awesome).
And if we’re raising the dead: George C. Scott, Bogart.
If we’re raising the dead (and sobering them up): Orson Welles.
Ooh, George Carlin, if we’re raising the dead and all.
You know I’m going with Marsters 😉
