Celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it.

4 July 2011

So, the wife and I had a plan for the Fourth of July — eat Mexican food.

Things were off to a good start with breakfast from Taco Bueno. But when it came time for lunch … well, there was the problem. We drove to no fewer than five Mexican restaurants, and all of them were closed for the Fourth. Dammit.

So, instead, we decided on Applebee’s. Because, really, what’s more American than a 2-for-$20 entree and appetizer special? Not much, I reckon. I think that’s what they had at the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

So, how do you celebrate the Fourth, if you’re in America? And happy Fourth of July to you all!
